M: No hurry. We still have thirty minutes.

4. W: Would you like some fruit or food, Dave?

M: Either is OK, Mum.

5. M: Hi, this is Jim speaking.

W: Hi, Jim. I called you last night, but you were not at home.

M: Oh, sorry, I went to the science museum yesterday.

M: Hey, Sally! I didn't see you last weekend.

W: No, I stayed at home.

M: Why?

W: Well, I had lots of things to do.

M: Like what?

W: Well, I cleaned my room. And I did my homework.

M: You did? Not much fun, huh?

W: Well, it wasn't too had. On Sunday I went to the library. How about you? What did you do?

M: Well, 1 played soccer on Saturday morning. On Sunday afternoon, I went to a movie. And on Sunday night, 1 visited my friend.

W: Wow! You had fun.

M: Yeah, I had fun. But I didn't do my homework, so school this morning wasn't fun!

W: What's the date today?

M: It's June 22nd.

W: June 22nd? Yesterday was your birthday, wasn't it?

M: Yeah, My family had a birthday lunch in a restaurant.

W: How was your lunch?

M: Oh, don't mention it! It was terrible!

W: Really? what happened?

M: First, after we ordered, the waiter broke my glass.

W: That's, terrible!

M: Yeah, and then another awful thing was that my mom ordered vegetable soup, but they brought out chicken soup for her!

W: What bad Luck!

M: But things got even worse after that. There was a dead fly on my birthday cake! 1 couldn't believe it !

W: Really? That's too bad! Which restaurant was it?

M: Alan's Restaurant. I'll never go there again!

M: I Love dogs very much. After I left school, I got a dog. Its name was Victor. It was my best friend. We stayed together for the next three years and lived a happy life. Later, I had to send Victor to my grandparents' house, because I moved to another city. Then my life became very had. Without Victor, I was like a fish out of water. With the help of my friends, I decided to start a new life. I tried hard and everything went well again. Losing my dog made me grow up. I've learned that life doesn't always go well. but we can choose to cheer up and live as happilv as possible.

Diana likes music a lot. She teaches in a school, She's busy from Monday to Friday. But she gets up early in the morning. There's a river near her house and she usually sings by the river before breakfast. She listens to CDs or watches the concerts on TV after she comes back. She listens to the famous singers carefully and tries to learn from them.  Her workmates and students think she sings

well and often ask her to sing in class or at the meetings. She's happy. She hopes to he a singer,too.
